Gresh Chapman studio portfolio work
Hey Ed -- welcome to my site.
This page presents a midsummer recap.
The Jappalachia workday is my dream job. However, feeling I haven't been enough help toward Riverdale.
If there are any opportunities for design, user experience, renders, sculpture, signage, etc, LMK :)
Anyhow, here's some reflection:

From my very first days of involvement @ RDL, Futuring has been my go-to exercise.

Future 1:
Horseshoe Court as Town Square.
Spending lots of time there, we've totally fallen in love with this little corner of the neigborhood.
Despite being peacefully tucked away, it contains the central organs of Riverdale:
A smokestack, a showroom living space, a warehouse (B7), and some big window mountain view lofts (B2).

Documenting the Past:
Recoloring and enhancing old photos of the site.

Future 2:
Base camp coming up!
How might an event field look at base camp?
By the time I got this out, we were 10 days from completion, so it might've been redundant. Haha.

Future 3:
Ninth street pollinator garden
Noticing the abundance of bees in this area, and being the public facing entrance to RDL, a pollinator garden seemed fitting;
Inviting and beautiful, but so many bees you wouldn't want to linger. Great for biodiversity.

Future 4:
Riverdale as Jappalachia -- Motorsports Paradise
Ok, this one was a bit selfish. But imagining potential drift track, skid pad, and indoor karting.
We even layed out the kart track in B7 with cones and drove it for Cameron's video.

In the Present:
Jappalachia resonates with people.
Taking on serious projects, and presenting them online with zany and culturally signifigant undertones
Getting recognized by some of the realest in Appalachian motorsport:
Steve from Missed Gear sums it up in his article
Backroads of Appalachia hosted us at an event.

Coming Up:
WV Hillfest, a big deal 3 day hillclimb event at Snowshoe resort, invited us to have a Jappalachia booth to spotlight JDM in Appalachian motorsport.
